Field trip SoilC4C – SoilCarbon4Climate Conference

We offer three half-day excursions to innovative farms around Berlin on September 13, 2025:

Biohof Klass

Biohof Klass is a Bioland-certified organic farm, located 60 kilometres off Berlin in the village of Wiesenhagen. The farm focuses on climate-positive production and circular economy approaches. Various arable crops and potatoes are cultivated in an integrated system, including chicken rearing and on-farm compost management, cover-cropping and conservation tillage.

Gut und Bösel

The organic farm Gut&Bösel is located around 90 kilometres from Berlin in the village of Briesen and is part of the ‚HumusKlimaNetz‘, a model and demonstration project for humus build-up and preservation in arable soils funded by the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH). Gut&Bösel is a pioneer in regenerative agriculture, situated in an area of rather poor and sandy soils. The farm established a syntropic agroforestry system, and is engaged in the holistic management of pastures, as well as composting, intercropping and conservation tillage.

Agrargenossenschaft Groß Machnow eG

Agrargenossenschaft Groß Machnow eG (AG GM) is located about 40 kilometres south of Berlin and is part of the HumusKlimaNetz. AG GM demonstrates how conventional farms can play a vital role in climate and nature protection. Besides its engagement for soil organic matter formation and soil conservation, AG GM is actively involved in peatland protection and wetland conservation.
